I currently manage the Advanced Analytics team in developing and evaluating AI solutions for healthcare use cases at UCLA Health. As a Senior Data Scientist on the Advanced Analytics team, I developed, deployed, and evaluated custom machine learning (ML) models and vendor solutions in the healthcare setting. These models included risk based, natural language processing (NLP) and large language models (LLMs) for improving patient care and streamlining hospital/care team workflows.

Responsible AI

I have built many components of a comprehensive responsible AI program at UCLA Health. These include the development of clear model documentation and contributing to the development & facilitation of the Health AI Council (HAIC) model review process. More information on responsible AI efforts at UCLA Health are given in my 2023 Data Day talk at UCLA. I am now leading the Advanced Analytics team in designing and implementing robust responsible AI practices.
